Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the historical character of the building remain?
Yes! We are taking necessary precautions and have worked the the ND State Historical Society to maintain the building's character. The majority of the marble on first floor will remain, except for a small portion to install an accessible ramp. The terrazzo flooring will remain along with the Sakakawea inlay. We're also keeping the maildrop and turnstyle door at the entry; both will be inoperable. The exterior will remain unchanged with replacement windows matching the current, reflective windows.

Is the beacon staying?
Yes, lighting will be changed to LED.

Are you reusing anything?
Yes! We're reusing some doors and cabinetry and keeping as many interior walls as possible.

Will there be a drop box?
Yes, an additional container will be installed next to the existing United States Postal Service container.

Where do I park?
The west parking lot will be for customers as well as street parking.

Will it still be named the "Provident Building"?
The current "Provident Building" signs must be removed due to rust. The building will become the "Burleigh County Building" just like when the City/County Building was formerly  Q&R Clinic.
