Self-Fill Sandbag Sites

Sites Closed April 25, 2023

Burleigh County officials have opened two sandbag sites for citizens to help mitigate potential damage to their homes from overland flooding. Sand and sandbags are free-remember to bring your own shovels and work gloves.

Site Locations:

•Missouri Valley Complex - Utilize the south entrance off Bismarck Expressway and exit on Main Avenue. (click here for map)

The US Army Corps of Engineers has developed a Flood-Fight Handbook that includes information on sandbagging, earth fill levees, interior drainage treatment, and flood fight problems.

They also have a Sandbagging Techniques pamphlet which includes procedures and safety tips on efficient bagging operations.
