Notice is hereby given that seasonal load restirictions will be removed on County and Township roadways effective Monday, May 11th at 7:00 A.M. Normal restrictions will go into effect at that time. Beginning Tuesday, May 26th, 2026 at 6:00 am, asphalt roadway repairs will begin on 80th Street NE between 43rd Avenue NE and 71st Avenue NE. Construction will begin at 43rd Avenue NE and will include subgrade repairs, base material, and asphalt paving. 80th Street NE will be closed to through traffic with access to local residents provided from 43rd Avenue NE to 71st Avenue NE and a detour will be provided for through traffic (please see attached map). Notice is hereby given that the Burleigh County Board of Commissioners have resolved that seasonal load restrictions will go into effect on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. and will continue until further notice. Enforcement will be by the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department and the ND Highway Patrol.
Effective immediately, the bridge located on 132nd St NE approximately 1 ¾ miles north of 201st Ave NE is restricted to a 7 ton gross vehicle weight with a 12 foot width restriction. The restriction will be in place until further notice. Click here to view a map.
Effective immediately, River Road is now open to thru traffic between Wilderness Cove Road and Sandy River Drive. The County has removed the landslide material that was blocking the roadway. It is important to note that the removal of existing material is not a “fix” to the current instability in the area but just a cleanup operation in order to reopen River Road to traffic. We are monitoring other fracture lines within the hillside that may (or may not) produce additional landslides at any point in the future. Burleigh County will continue to monitor the slide area and provide additional information to the public as it becomes available.Click here for a map of the reopening.
Effective immediately, River Road is closed to thru traffic between Wilderness Cove Road and Sandy River Drive due to a landslide. River Road is closed to all traffic at the slide area until further notice. Burleigh County will continue to monitor the slide and will start clean-up towards the end of the week once the slide stabilizes, weather permitting. Mobile message boards will be in place to advise the traveling public of updates as information becomes available. No Detour will be provided. Beginning Wednesday, July 16th, 2025 at 6:00 am, construction will begin on Highway 10 between McKenzie and East to US Highway 83. Construction will begin at McKenzie and will include a mill and overlay. Additionally, a chip seal will be completed from 66th St SE to US Highway 83 after the mill and overlay is completed. Pilot cars will be in place throughout construction.Project completion date is September 15, 2025. Please expect delays and plan accordingly. Click here for a map.
Beginning, May 15th, road work consisting of installing turn lanes & shoulder grading will begin on County Road 10 & 80th Street NE. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers and expect traffic delays.
